How to use SNAP/EBT, DUFB, FDNP, and Protein Perks

SNAP/EBT

SNAP recipients will visit the Bend Farmers Market booth at FYP to exchange EBT for wooden tokens that can be accepted by any FYP vendor (except Smith Rock Coffee Roasters).

Double Up Food Bucks (DUFB)

To access DUFB, you must go to the Bend Farmers Market booth and withdraw SNAP benefits. This year, we are thrilled to announce we can offer a $100 match. So that means, if you withdraw $100 in SNAP benefits, you receive an additional $100 in DUFB for a total of $200 in benefits. This also means if you withdraw $50 you will only receive $50, or if you withdraw $150 you will receive $100. Make sense? DUFB benefits can only be used on fruits and vegetables.

Protein Perks

To access Protein Perks, you must go to the Bend Farmers Market booth and withdraw SNAP benefits. We are excited to announce that the Bend Farmers Market and FYP have pooled $2000 together to offer $20 Match in Protein Perks to the first 100 SNAP customers. Because this is a capped budget and not a grant funded program, we unfortunately have to stop the offer after 100 customers. We appreciate your understanding as we try to build this program. Protein Perks can be used for Meat, Fish, Cheese, and Eggs only.

To utilize the full match for SNAP, DUFB, and Protein Perks, you must withdraw $120 in SNAP/EBT to receive the additional $100 DUFB and $20 In Protein Perks for a total of $240 in benefits.

Farm Direct Nutrition Program Vouchers (FDNP)

These vouchers can be used directly with the farmers. Farmers accepting FDNP Vouchers include: Boundless Farmstead, Canyon Moon Farm, Casad Family Farms, Cultivate Farm, Deschutes Canyon Garlic, Farmer in Odell, Fibonacci, Rainshadow Organics, Rooper Ranch, Sungrounded Farm, Upriver Organics, and Zajac Farm

Other Notes

If you have SNAP tokens, DUFB or Protein Perk cards left over from Farmers Market season, those may be used at FYP and must be used up at FYP as the 2024 cards will not be accepted at the market in 2025.

Unfortunately, at this time, we are not able to accept SNAP for pre-orders. The USDA has a pilot program happening this year for online EBT sales and we are hopeful we can join the program and software in 2025.
